Aegis Energy, EDF Group, LLC earns three Super 60 Awards
Holyoke-based Combined Heat and Power firm honored for continued growth in the region
HOLYOKE, MA _ Aegis Energy, EDF Group, a green energy innovator specializing in Combined Heat and Power systems, was recently honored with three prestigious Super 60 Awards presented by the Affiliated Chambers of Commerce of Greater Springfield.
Aegis Energy, EDF Group, LLC was recognized in the Total Revenue category, and both its manufacturing arm, Aegenco, Inc, and its finance subsidiary, PowerVestors, LLC, were recognized for revenue growth.
Founded in 1985, Aegis Energy, EDF Group is a full service Combined Heat and Power developer that utilizes modular systems to reduce both energy costs and emissions for a variety of facilities, from healthcare and assisted living facilities, to recreational and multi-residential complexes, and hotels. There are also institutional, educational, and industrial facility applications. Combined Heat and Power (CHP), also known as cogeneration, is an efficient, clean, and reliable technology, which simultaneously generates electricity and thermal energy from a single fuel source.
This is the second consecutive year that the company has been recognized by the Affiliated Chambers.
“I am so pleased to once again accept this Super 60 Award on behalf of our team at Aegis Energy, EDF Group,” said Lee Vardakas, President and General Manager. “This is a dedicated, highly-skilled group of local individuals who each day give their best effort in order to advance Combined Heat and Power, a recognized energy saving and emission reducing technology. I also offer my sincere thanks to our team for making us the market leader in modular CHP and to the Affiliated Chambers for recognition of our achievements.”
Aegis Energy’s unique PowerVestors investment program provides funding which allows clients to take advantage of energy cost savings from an Aegis cogeneration system without requiring an upfront capital investment. Through the host site’s purchase of electricity, at a discount from prevailing utility electrical rates, Aegis is able to amortize the capital cost of the equipment.
Aegis Combined Heat and Power systems are currently utilized across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic, including installations in Western Mass properties managed by the Springfield Housing Authority, Glenmeadow Retirement Community, and the Springfield Jewish Community Center.
The Super 60 Awards, a now 25-year old tradition in the Pioneer Valley, serves as a celebration of the depth and diversity of the region’s business community. In recent years, the award ceremony has recognized the region’s nationally-known brands such as Peter Pan, Smith & Wesson, and MassMutual.
