Dalkia Aegis, EDF Group, LLC celebrates anniversary
Combined Heat and Power company surpasses 30 year milestone
HOLYOKE, MA _ In February of 2015, Dalkia Aegis, EDF Group celebrated its 30th Anniversary in the Combined Heat and Power industry.
Founded in 1985, Dalkia Aegis, EDF Group’ modular systems are currently utilized across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic providing highly-efficient, clean power options for a wide array of customers.
Included in its hundreds of CHP installations and maintenance projects are the EPA award-winning installation at the National Archives and Records Administration, the AAA- 4 Diamond Saybrook Point Inn and Spa in Old Saybrook, Connecticut, and multiple installations at the renowned Tudor City in New York.
Under the direction of Lee Vardakas, President of Dalkia Aegis, EDF Group, the company has developed a True Vertical Integration (TVI) approach to modular CHP projects, utilizing a staff of dedicated professionals that are responsible for the complete integration of a CHP system within a client’s facility.
Dalkia Aegis, EDF Group’ industry innovations include the unique Shared Savings program that allows clients to take advantage of energy cost savings from a Dalkia Aegis Combined Heat and Power system regardless of their capital improvement budget.
Under the program Dalkia Aegis, EDF Group is responsible for the total installation and operating costs of the system. Through an agreement for sharing the energy savings with the host site, Dalkia Aegis is able to amortize the capital and operating cost of the equipment and offer the option to sell the system to the site at any given point during the contract.
In 2008 with credit markets tightening due to subprime crisis, the company innovated once again by forming PowerVestors, LLC, a private equity firm set up to fund the Shared Savings programs.
Dalkia Aegis has also been a positive force for the Western Mass economy.
For two consecutive years beginning in 2012 the company was honored with three prestigious Super 60 Awards presented by the Affiliated Chambers of Commerce of Greater Springfield. Dalkia Aegis was recognized in the Total Revenue category, and both its manufacturing arm, Aegenco, Inc., and its finance subsidiary, PowerVestors, LLC, were recognized for revenue growth.
