Mr. Vardakas serves as CEO of both Dalkia Aegis, EDF Group and Dalkia Energy Solutions, and is responsible for all facets of both businesses, overseeing day-to-day operations and guiding long-term strategies and growth trajectories including Dalkia’s US corporate development.
He possesses more than three decades of experience in the energy industry, most recently serving as president of Dalkia Aegis. Under his leadership, Dalkia Aegis became known as a leader in small-package cogeneration (also known as Combined Heat and Power or CHP) in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states, and Vardakas, to his credit, known as a highly regarded and sought-after resource for policy makers and regulators in the distributed energy industry.
Committed to world-class service and innovation in the on-site combined heat and power markets, Lee and his team have received multiple “Super 60” awards from the Springfield Regional Chamber and the Siemens Customer Excellence Award for demonstrated commitment to clients. In 2020, he personally was named an Environment + Energy Leader. Presented annually to 100 recipients, this esteemed honor celebrates substantial and measurable environmental impacts and the trailblazers who achieved them.
Mr. Vardakas holds a degree in economics from The University of Rochester and is a member of the Connecticut River Valley Chapter of Young Presidents Organization.
With a business management degree and over 20 years’ professional experience, Dan capably leads all national business development, marketing, advertising and sales activities at Dalkia Aegis, EDF Group. He places just as much importance on customer satisfaction as he does operational success, positioning Dalkia Aegis for long-term growth while making lifelong customers who enjoy reduced energy costs and carbon footprints.
His previous employment includes time in the recycling industry working with Fortune 500 corporations, and with large volume retailers, Toys R Us, SuperValu and Circuit City, in advertising and marketing capacities.
In his role, Joe is responsible for business operations, and manages teams across production, service, research & development, engineering, analysis & finance, to drive revenue growth and continued organizational success. He possesses nearly two decades of relevant experience, most recently holding a comparable position in the aerospace industry. In this role, he was responsible for strategic planning and corporate compliance in addition to two company acquisitions.
He holds an advanced degree in accounting from Bryant College and is a certified public accountant and a certified internal auditor. Outside of work, Joe is the treasurer and a board member of the Friends of John Paire, a nonprofit organization whose mission it is to grant children access to a well-rounded education regardless of their economic status.
In her role at Dalkia Aegis, EDF Group, Christine is responsible for all of the organization’s financial operations and human resource functions. To fulfill her duties, she draws from her more than three decades of experience in financial leadership roles.
A certified public accountant and as a former adjunct faculty member of the College of Our Lady of the Elms, Christine is immersed in and aware of industry information, trends and changing tax codes and financial policies. Prior to joining Dalkia Aegis, she was responsible for the integrity of financial information for a large, third-party disability insurance administrator.
She holds Bachelor of Arts and Master’s degrees in accounting from Aurora University and Northern Illinois University, respectively. Active in the local community, she previously served on an American Red Cross Disaster Action Team.
Dave brings over two decades of experience to Dalkia Aegis, EDF Group where he designs and engineers Combined Heat and Power (CHP) systems involving one to several modules for all types of applications including extensive use of thermally driven absorption air conditioning. Additionally, he oversees, directs and guides the engineering team, creating and executing project work plans that use the latest technology for monitoring, communicating and controlling these systems.
He holds a degree in mechanical engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology and is currently pursuing Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
A longtime employee of Dalkia Aegis, EDF Group, Sarah now serves as the manager of the energy analysis team. Her core duties include creating content and submitting grant applications for customers, providing internal IT admin support, drafting service contracts, and performing regulatory monitoring.
She holds a degree in economics from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and possesses over two decades of relevant industry experience.
