IT Support Technician

Aegis Energy, a Dalkia company, and a subsidiary of Group EDF, is a local cogeneration/utility company and we are growing! We are currently looking for an entry level IT Support Technician to work in our Operations Department. This first shift, M-F position is responsible to ensure proper connectivity and management of our local and remote equipment throughout the Northeast by leveraging the appropriate timeline and accumulated knowledge of our IT processes. Candidates for this position will have a great work ethic, strong attention to detail, IT education/background, and excellent communication skills.

A person with these skills and a technical mind will grow with this job to help our IT department support remote and local users and customers as necessary. This position represents the company in a positive image with employees, the customers, and the community, and performs all duties in a safe and ethical manner.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Receive incoming internal and external IT requests
  • Create & plan customer visits
  • Review firmware releases, end-of-life timelines, and routine updates
  • Collaborate with third party IT companies to facilitate common goals
  • Create job quotes and invoices as required
  • Recommend and initiate process improvements

Position Details:

  • Reports to Manager of Information Technology
  • M-F, 1st Shift
  • Hourly wage + overtime pay after 40 hrs
  • Training period (120 days on average)
  • Occasional early start times, up to 20% daily travel, and <10% overnight travel

Required Qualifications:

  • HS diploma or equivalent
  • Continuing education degree/certification in IT-related field, military experience, or equivalent
  • Excellent customer service skills both over the phone and electronically
  • Attention to detail
  • Skilled in problem solving
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and daily deadlines
  • Outstanding communication, computer and coordination skills
  • Understanding of network infrastructure and security
  • Knowledge of router configurations & network changes
  • Desktop support (Windows) & Mobile device support (Android & iOS) experience
  • Valid driver license and clean driving record
  • Ability to pass both drug test and background check

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4 year college degree in IT-related field, or relevant military experience
  • Experience (professional or hobby) working with automobile engines
  • Understanding of network infrastructure and security
  • Experience working in a service, maintenance, or logistics department
  • Electrical production or test experience
