Aegis Energy, EDF Group earns excellence award from Siemens

Aegis Energy, EDF Group, LLC, an innovative Combined Heat and Power company based in Holyoke, MA, was honored by Siemens at the Tenth Annual Customer Excellence Awards Ceremony. The ceremony was held as part of the Siemens Automation Summit held last month in Las Vegas.

Aegis was cited in the Manufacturing Excellence category as a member of the Siemens Automation User Community.

Founded in 1985, Aegis Energy, EDF Group’ modular systems are currently utilized across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic providing energy-saving, clean power options for a wide array of customers.

Combined Heat and Power (CHP), also known as cogeneration, is an efficient, clean, and reliable technology, which simultaneously generates electricity and thermal energy from a single fuel source.

Aegis is a full service Combined Heat and Power developer that utilizes highly efficient modular systems to reduce both energy costs and emissions for a variety of facilities, from healthcare and assisted living facilities, to recreational and multi-residential complexes, and hotels. There are also institutional, educational, and industrial facility applications.

Under the direction of Lee Vardakas, President of Aegis Energy, EDF Group, the company’s signature CHP installation projects include the EPA award-winning installation at the National Archives and Records Administration, the AAA-4 Diamond Saybrook Point Inn and Spa in Old Saybrook, Connecticut, and multiple installations at the renowned Tudor City in New York.

Aegis is engaged in a strategic partnership with Siemens Corporation to provide single-vendor parts, products and platforms for the company’s innovative Combined Heat and Power systems.

Since 2006 the Customer Excellence Award has recognized achievements of Siemens’ customers and partners who exemplify using Siemens technology to generate superior business results. The awards highlight partners who have demonstrated leadership in driving innovation, collaboratively overcoming barriers, and delivering success.
